We are a community-rooted nonprofit dedicated to preserving history, restoring hope, and building opportunity. Our work extends beyond celebration. Through scholarships, youth development, outreach, leadership initiatives, and advocacy, we serve families and strengthen the foundation of our community.

We believe purpose is activated when people are equipped with identity, resources, and opportunity. Our mission is to help unlock that purpose in every life we touch.

Juneteenth of Thomasville–Thomas County Foundation Inc. is a nonprofit organization created to honor African American history while actively investing in the future of our community.  We believe that education, opportunity, identity, and service are essential to long-term transformation.  Our work focuses on uplifting youth, strengthening families, and building bridges across the community through intentional programming and outreach.

What We Do

• Host the annual Juneteenth Freedom Festival, serving over an avg. of 2,260 attendees

• Provide scholarships to local students

• Develop youth through leadership and empowerment programming

• Recognize excellence through the Hoodie Awards

• Advocate for mental health awareness and suicide prevention

• Provide outreach initiatives that support children, families, and unhoused communities year-round
